As many players know the Boss SD-1 pedal is not too bad out of the box but still leaves much to be desired. My modifications have breathed new life into it and has transformed it into an overdrive pedal you will love to have and will keep in your chain of effects!

Several capacitors and resistors have been replaced with superior quality metal film components to give this pedal more GIRTH, GAIN and GREAT TONE, yet focused, clear and very much defined! Side by side, a stock SD-1 and my modified SD-1, the difference is incredible! More gain has been added as well as more low end and an increased output! I have also installed a socket for the IC, included will be a JRC 4558 and an RC4558P chip!

All of my mods are designed to clarify , enhance tone and usability ...as they should! I use only high quality / tolerance components in all of my modifications!

This is the Boss MT-2 Metal Zone distortion pedal which , out of the box, has some decent sounds and tones but does need quite a bit of help in a few areas to get it up to speed and where it should be!

The tone section has been reworked to get rid of the nasty icepick highs and the well known nasal mids, better bass response as well as more precise tonal adjustments have been introduced into the circuit, highly tweakable tone controls!

Slightly more gain has also been added as well as the clipping section being altered giving the overall distortion a much smoother sound ...no more unnatural buzzsaw grind , much , much better and more pleasing to the ear!

Many electrolytic and other inferior capacitors / resistors have been replaced with high quality metal film components of the same and different values which yield superior clarity and tone!
